Nordic WalkingNordicWalking

When?

Wednesday, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Training is held all year round, also on holidays and during school vacations.

Where?

Wednesday:  Grüneburgpark.  We meet at the corner of the two streets, "Siesmayerstraße" and "Grüneburgweg" (Palmengarten).

Must I attend training regularly?

For the sake of your back, the answer should be "yes"!  Nordic Walking is perfect to strengthen your back musculature.  Strong and fit back muscles help guard against problems with your invertebral discs.

Who may attend?

Anyone and everyone.  The Nordic "ALFA" technique comprises the various movements that form the prerequisite for good, functional Nordic Walking techniques.  Come learn the basics and Nordic Walking will help keep your back strong!

What must I bring?

Running or jogging shoes and sports attire geared to the weather of the day.  A belt with a water bottle is also a good idea.  Bring your own walking poles if you have them, but for the first few times you come, we will lend you poles.  Don't rush out and buy your own poles immediately--use ours the first few times to see what suits you best.

Training format

Exercise and fun at any time.  Nordic Walking can be enjoyed at any time and anywhere.

The long-term goal of Nordic Walking is to hold, control and use your poles correctly and effectively at all times.  Individual goals with respect to the terrain and training intensity will be set based on the shape you're in and your Nordic Walking experience.  Only after the Nordic Walking techniques sit firm and you feel at ease, will you really start to enjoy yourself and yes, you will notice the results!

Does it cost me any more than the basic FVV membership fee?

No.  When we go on trips and/or participate in Nordic Walking events, each walker is responsible for his own costs.

Does the group also participate in tournaments and workshops?

We organize several day excursion trips during the year in the Rhein-Main area.  These trips and events are announced on the FVV homepage and via the Nordic Walking E-mail distribution list.
